Something else to be grateful for: when I get home from work, a delicious, home-cooked meal willingly prepared for me with expertise and love – Maria

I smile when my eyes rest on these pens; I remember my teaching life and how much fun I had receiving and using them.
I am a late bloomer in so many ways. For example, I didn’t realize that green is my favourite colour until I was in my 40s, I think, and then I became a bit obsessive about surrounding myself with it: scarves, walls, pens . . . I always marked my students’ essays in green. Keeping me stocked with green pens was a tricky gift because they’re harder to find. Perseverance paid off, however, and I will probably never have to buy another green pen – Maria

I’ve been thinking about the colour pink this week. Pink fabric, paint, thread, clothing. It’s a colour that people tend to have strong opinions about. I didn’t start liking pink until I was in my thirties. Now that I’m in my fifties, I love pink more than ever.
I think it’s a happy colour. What about you? – Cris

A kind friend, interesting, thoughtful conversation, tea and treats; a lovely, much-needed break this week from the busyness and stresses of life.
What have you been doing to try and lessen your stress? – Maria
