1967. The Year of The Sheep, excellent movies, music and events that changed the world. 1967 was Canada’s Centennial Year. We were 100 years old. Benjamin was seduced by Mrs. Robinson. Hepburn and Tracy were together for their final film. Paul Newman was totally Cool. And Sidney Poitier said, “They call me Mr. Tibbs!” Racial and social unrest was reaching a fever pitch. Twiggy entered the fashion-verse with the miniskirt and free love was in the air.

The Friday Exhale: 5 Thoughts on the Week

I am getting new prescription glasses: the lenses of the ones I have now are scratched and, more importantly, my vision has changed, at least in one eye. I still don’t need glasses to see up close, but I definitely need to update my lenses to drive more safely in the dark. I think it would be hilarious if I could get glasses like these. Not sure how others would react . . . Look at that crazy old lady! What are those dangly bits?! I’d be smiling at the world all day long. – Maria
