The Friday Exhale: 5 Thoughts on the Week

I came across this photo the other day and was charmed. The combination of her sweet round face, long eyelashes, dark curls and her plaid outfit is adorable. She reminds me a bit of my daughter at that age. I hope the outfit was comfortable. My daughter hated getting dressed up when she was little: scratchy seams, and lack of freedom to run and jump as she liked. I wonder why the little darling is staring at the blossoms? She seems too sweet to have knocked them off. Hmmmm . . . -Maria

2024: Sewing a Nine Piece Capsule Wardrobe

I have decided to do something a little differently with my sewing plans this year. I’m planning to make a 9 piece capsule wardrobe. Nine garments that will go together, that I can mix ‘n match and put together in many combinations. In the past I’ve just sewn whatever I wanted to, not really thinking about how well the garments went together. I’ve decided for this year, that the most practical thing to do is to sew myself a wardrobe with pieces that will look great together and will make me feel happy, confident and strong.
