I was listening to an episode of This American Life the other day and Ira Glass was speaking to one of his co-workers who is a list-maker. She said she makes lists as a way to put her thoughts down on paper and free up space in her mind for other thoughts, information, data, etc. I found this interesting and it got me thinking of the lists I used to compose, and still do, about groceries, things to do, favourite books, songs, top 100 songs, favourite hockey or baseball players, handsome people, interesting jobs, etc.

Hope springs eternal. Initially, I almost killed this plant just after I got it for my birthday back in March. It was so pretty on my shady dresser, and in the busyness of my days, I somehow assumed it would stay that way. Now, it is blooming again for the first time. I am thrilled and grateful that it has chosen to beautify my window sill with its delicate bloom. Simple remedy: follow the directions for sun and water. – Maria
